General information: This will be the 5th year that the Patriots have hosted the DOE Maryland Regional Middle School Science Bowl. The National Science Bowl is a nationwide academic competition that test students’ knowledge in all areas of science. Teams consist of four students and an alternate. The Science Bowl is scheduled for Saturday, March 13, 2009 from 8am to 4pm at Ernest Just Middle School, Mitchellville, MD. In preparation for this event, a Coach Workshop will be held on Saturday, January 16 from 10am to 12noon for the “solar car” at Kenmoor Middle School, Landover, MD.
For the second year, the winning team was from Takoma Park Middle School of Takoma Park, MD. First place winners get a chance to go to the Nationals and compete with students from all over the country.
