General information: It’s all about exposing students to STEM careers in the aerospace industry from designing aircraft, checking the weather, controlling the aircraft taking off and landing, and maintaining maintenance. They will also learn about mechanical and electrical engineering. Students will get an overview of the STEM positions at Joint Base Andrews.
Program: Students will be involved in interactive presentations where they will learn about the STEM careers at Joint Base Andrews such as:
- Air Traffic Controller
- Aviator
- Aircraft Designer
- Aircraft Maintenance
- Mechanical Engineer
- Electrical Engineer
After the presentations, the students will participate in a Kahoot game to win a cash gift card.
Note: You MUST have a Patriots Membership to compete and win Prizes in the Kahoot game.

Prizes:
– 1st Place: $50 Cash Gift Card
– 2nd Place: $30 Cash Gift Card
– 3rd Place: $25 Cash Gift Card
Schools: The virtual competition will be among middle and high school students throughout the United States.
Business and Government Support: Professionals from the aerospace/aviation industry will be recruited to instruct the workshops and continue to be E-mentors to our members. This project will significantly impact the community by bringing attention to the awareness of available careers at Joint Base Andrews and the aerospace/aviation industry.
Fee: Free for Presentations. Patriots Membership required to compete in Kahoot and win prizes.
